Hello There,
I am a self taught, diverse, disabled artist, I've always been creative from a young age.
When I was young I started to write short stories. When I was old enough I then became interested in learning how to play an instrument. I was always around music from my parents and grandparents.
I played organ, clarinet and loved it so much I then moved into learning how to play the tenor saxophone. I also learned how to play alto saxophone, and bass clarinet.
I loved to practice and each new thing I learned just pushed me more to get better and keep learning.
I have always loved photography, however during my school years music took over and I had to make a choice of which to pursue.
Sadly I can no longer play an instrument that ended when I became sick with Hodgkin's lymphoma stage 4a. I was given a 50% survival rating.
I firmly believe in the saying when one door closes another one opens. I saw something online that I loved and thought I want to make that. I taught myself to sew. I saved and bought my first sewing machine with cash.
I went to a class that a friend was having on basic jewelry making and then taught myself to make jewelry.
I have many health problems, three of the most profound in my life are meniere's disease, Epilepsy, and severe lung disease(s).
I have more than one lung disease. Even with these challenges I find new ways to continue to learn and be creative.
Newly added to the list above is now Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
I don't like to put myself into one specific genre of music and art.
I enjoy music composition ,photography, also mixed media, free verse poetry, textile art and jewelry making.
I'm always asking myself the question What If? I am very inspired from nature, color and texture.
I look at things differently and I hope my art helps you do the same.
I live in Wisconsin with my husband and three fur kids, two cats and a dog and am thankful for my daily blessings and inspirations.
